FAQs
What is Bouldering?
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing where a person will climb no higher than 4.5m without the aid of ropes.
Here at Climb West, you will always climb with safety mats beneath you.
Can I bring kids?
Due to the nature of all activities within our centre, here at Climb West Melbourne we have a MINIMUM AGE of 8 to use our facilities.
All climbers under the age of 16 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
All climbers under the age of 18 must have their legal waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.
Children under the age of 8 are welcome in our facility. They must be supervised at all times by a parent or legal guardian.
Children under the age of 8 must also stay off the black matting at all times. This is a dangerous area due to climbers being high on the climbing walls. This is for the safety of children and the climbers in the climbing area.
Can anyone do it?
Yes, absolutely! Whether you are experienced or trying Bouldering for the first time, our incredible setting team aims to create exciting, thought-provoking and challenging Boulder Problems for climbers of all abilities.
Climb West Melbourne is a friendly, fun and safe environment in which to exercise, socialise, and gain new climbing skills. We encourage people of all skill levels and abilities to give Bouldering a go!
What do I need to bring?
It is best to climb in comfortable sportswear, similar to what you might wear to a sports gym.
Climbing shoes are compulsory, so if you don’t have your own, you will have to hire a pair. This can be done easily on arrival at reception. If you do hire a pair, you must wear them with socks.
Bring with you a water bottle to keep you hydrated and a change of clothes/towel if you would like to use our onsite shower and changing rooms.

No need to book in advance. You are welcome to drop in at anytime, and stay for as long as you’d like. You can even leave and come back in the same day!
